To grow plumeria or frangipani from seeds, follow these proven steps:

Firstly, moisten the frangipani seeds to hasten the germination process. Place the seeds between moistened tissue papers and leave them in a warm environment for 24 hours. The thicker part of the seeds will swell, indicating they are ready for sowing.

In the meantime, prepare the potting mix. You can either make your own or use a ready-made mix, such as the Baba brand 'Seedling Package', which includes 0.88 lb. (400 grams) of peat moss and ten 2-inch (5 cm) deep cultivation pots. If you don't have access to these pots, you can reuse or recycle 0.12 gallon (500 ml) empty mineral bottles by cutting off two-thirds and using the bottom one-third, making sure to create holes at the base.

Next, transplant the swollen seeds. Moisten the peat moss (or potting mix) and make a small hole in it. Gently push the plumeria seed about 0.2 inches (5 mm) into the mix, ensuring the swollen end is at the bottom and the seed wing is at the top, with part of the wing sticking out of the soil. Tenderly press the soil against the side of the plumeria seed.

To create a mini greenhouse effect, place the pots in an empty plastic container and cover it. Position the container in a warm, lighted area, but not under direct sunlight. Check the soil daily and mist it with water if the top layer appears dry.

Depending on the freshness of the seeds, it can take anywhere from seven days to over a month for them to germinate. In most cases, the leaf will emerge with the remains of the husk still attached, which will eventually drop off as the leaves grow larger.

The ideal growing conditions for plumeria or frangipani are:

Growing Zones: 4-11 (potted) & 10-11 (in ground) Mature Height: 30-40 ft. Sunlight: Full – Partial Water: Moist, well Drained Spacing: 10-12 ft.

By following these steps, you can successfully grow plumeria or frangipani from seeds, creating a thriving and beautiful plant.
